The 12th annual conference of Society of GI endoscopy of India is being organized in the city of Mumbai from April 21-24, 2011 at Hotel Grand Hyatt. Dr Amit Maydeo is the course chairman and Dr Vinay Dhir is the course director. The conference offers extensive coverage of all topic related to endoscopy. There will be live transmission of endoscopy cases from the Institute of advance endoscopy. About 18 hours of live endoscopy transmission spread over 4 days performed by renowned national and International faculty promises to be a visual feast for endoscopy enthusiasts. This will be supplemented by lectures, symposia and breakfast sessions.
The salient features of the conference include
1. Master oration by Dr Peter Cotton on sixty years of endoscopy. In addition, There will be BJ Vakil oration by Prof Joseph Sung on management of bleeding ulcers, special lecture by Prof Lawrence Ho on Robotics in endoscopy, lecture on endotherapy of portal hypertension by Prof SK Sarin, and keynote lecture by Prod Michael Wallace on the future of endoscopy imaging. Amongst others
2. A mix of young and experienced endoscopists from India and abroad will perform live endoscopy procedures; some of these are visiting India for the first time. Some prominent names include; David Carr-Locke, Ram Chuttani, Michael Wallace, Shyam Varadarajulu, Michael Kahaleh, Paul Akerman ( all USA), KL Goh (Malaysia), JH Moon ( Korea), Lawrence Ho ( Singapore), M Bourke ( Australia). The National experts include Nageshwar Reddy, Randhir Sood, TS Chandershekhar, MK Goenka, P Garg, SP Mishra and many more
3. Endoscopy quiz will be conducted by Dr TS Chandershekhar. The first prize will be a gastroscope
