"Application for World Gastroenterology Organization"


Dear Members of Indian Society of Gastroenterology,
The Indian Society of Gastroenterology invites applications for World Gastroenterology Organization - Train the Trainers Workshop: Khartoum, Sudan 2018.

The WGO has invited its members societies for nominations for participation in the Train the Trainer's Program as per the following schedule. They have invited two nominations from India (one senior member and one relatively younger member).

May we invite applications from the members of ISG for the attending the WGO-TTT program. There are two categories:

  • Below 45 years
  • 45 years and above

We request you to please send the following documents to secretary@isg.org.in/govindmakharia@isg.org.in.
  • Cover letter
  • Complete biography
  • A paragraph about your achievement in imparting training and reaching GI fellows

Last date of application: The complete application should reach ISG Secretariat by February 12, 2018.

Support:
  • ISG will provide a travel Grant of INR 50,000 each to both the selected nominees.
  • Single accommodation, ground transportation, catering and onsite expenses, as well as all course materials, are covered by the host organization and WGO. A maximum of 5 night’s accommodation is provided for each participant.

Workshop details
Arrival Date: Tuesday, 17 April 2018
Workshop Dates: Wednesday - Saturday, 18-21 April 2018
Departure: Sunday, 22 April 2018

TTT applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Fluency in English is important as many of the breakout sessions require active participation and discussion from all members of the group.
  • Participants attending the workshop must be responsible for training in their countries, within their own unit/region, and commit to putting the TTT workshop lessons into place upon return to their own teaching environment.
  • Participants are responsible for obtaining their own medical insurance while attending the workshop. WGO does not provide medical coverage for participants.
  • Participants are required to attend the entire workshop and should plan to arrive on the specified arrival date and should not depart prior to the specified departure date.
  • Applications from WGO Member Societies will be reviewed for adherence to the above criteria and for the equal distribution of TTT workshop spots amongst member societies.
  • Member societies are invited to cover the costs of travel for their candidates or to arrange other forms of support as WGO is not in a position to cover these costs.
  • Single accommodation, ground transportation, catering and onsite expenses as well as all course materials are covered by the host organization and WGO. A maximum of 5 night’s accommodation is provided for each participant.
  • Should participants wish to bring their partners with them to TTT they will be charged for the additional rooming costs and the social events expenses.
  • The participant acknowledges by registration, that he/she has no right to lodge damage claims against the organizers in the event of cancellation due to unexpected events / force majeure or changes to program due to any reason.
  • The participant acknowledges by registration that the WGO and the hosting organization are solely responsible for the organizing of Train the Trainers. Participants who wish to arrive before or depart after the specified arrival and departure days, must clarify their accommodations and other personal expenses which may occur (ground transportation, meals etc.) directly with the hotel.
