Since little is known about the prevalence of Gastrointestinal and Hepatology disorders, out of every 10 adults in the world 4 suffer from gastrointestinal disorders of varying severity. With the advancement of technology and treatment, a large section of the population is not adequately educated including patients in desperate need.

The ISG - OM Prakash Rising Star Award celebrates young and exceptional talent in the field of gastroenterology. Open to ISG members under the age of 40, this prestigious award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated remarkable academic and research achievements, including impactful publications and contributions to the field.
The award highlights the importance of fostering innovation, dedication, and excellence in the next generation of gastroenterologists, with the recipient being honored at the ISGCON conference.
To recognize some of the pioneer members of the society and the Indian Gastroenterology fraternity, the Governing Council of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology launched a new award based on well-defined criteria. The Master & Fellow of ISG is granted on application by members of ISG. The governing council further decided to honor some of the stalwarts even without application.A certificate and acknowledgment on the ISG website are given to the winners of themasters and fellows of the ISG award during the organization's annual conference. The recipients may sign their names with the designations 'Master of ISG' or 'Fellow of ISG' Applications should be submitted online via the online form. Applications areevaluated by the Screening Committee of ISG (Indian Society of Gastroenterology) on the basis of laid down criteria.
The ISG Best DM/DNB Thesis Award recognizes outstanding academic contributions by young gastroenterologists. Open to members of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, this prestigious award honors exemplary thesis work that has been approved by an external panel and resulted in publications in indexed journals within two years of thesis submission.
Eligible applicants include those who have completed their DM/DNB thesis in Gastroenterology within two years of passing their exams.
